What does it mean to be a member of the 1877 Legacy Society?

Since the beginning of our OSF HealthCare Ministry, we have been blessed by people who have remembered the Sisters' Mission in their Will, trust or estate plan. Named for the year the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis began their healthcare Ministry, 1877 Legacy Society was created to honor those, with their permission, who have included support for any area of our OSF Ministry with a future gift in their Will, trust or estate plan.

Here are some commonly asked questions about membership in the 1877 Legacy Society:

Q. Do I need to have my Will or estate plan completed to be counted as a member of the 1877 Legacy Society?

A. No. We realize that sharing your decision is the first step. OSF HealthCare Foundation has a simple Legacy Gift Decision form to help you share what you would like to accomplish. Once your plans are completed, we would greatly appreciate it if you would share the portion of your documentation such as a copy of the language in your Will or trust, beneficiary listing on life insurance, etc. By sharing this information, you help the Sisters as they prayerfully consider the future and strategically work to provide the best healthcare for the communities we serve. All information shared is kept confidential.

Q. Will my planned gift provide local support?

A. Yes. Your planned gift can be designated to any area of OSF that is meaningful to you.

This is why we invite you to share your decision. We want to clearly understand what you wish to accomplish and ensure the way your gift is reflected in your estate plan is accurate to meet your goals.
